EWEB opens applications for the 2025 Electric Mobility Community Grant
April 30, 2025 • Ashley Cissna, EWEB Communications
The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Electric Mobility Grant, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and cleaner transportation.
Nonprofits, academic institutions or public organizations within EWEB’s service territory can apply for grants of up to $30,000 to cover up to 100% of project expenses. Grant funds must be used for a project that promotes the adoption of electric transportation options.
EWEB began accepting applications last week on Earth Day, April 22, 2025, and are available at www.eweb.org/electric-mobility-grants. The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 31, 2025.
A grant committee will evaluate and score projects based on project feasibility, use of funds, innovation and analysis, social equity and their education, environmental and community benefits. Special consideration will be given to projects that advance electric mobility in underserved communities, including areas without ample access to public electric vehicle charging.
Funding for the Electric Mobility Community Grant Program is partly made possible by the Oregon Clean Fuels Program, administered by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. With the Oregon Clean Fuels Program, utilities earn credits for each electric vehicle (EV) within their service territory and for the energy provided at utility-owned public charging stations. EWEB then sells these credits and utilizes the funds to support the adoption of electric mobility in the community.
In addition to the Electric Mobility Community Grant, EWEB supports electric mobility by offering rebates for residential and commercial charging stations and electric bikes, as well as an electric vehicle carshare program.
“EWEB is pleased to continue to offer our Electric Mobility Community Grant Program in 2025. It has been a rewarding experience and a privilege to support our community agencies in their transportation electrification goals,” says Juan Serpa Munoz, Business Line Manager at EWEB. “We look forward to learning about this year’s projects and their efforts to our serve our community.”
This is the fourth year that EWEB has offered the Electric Mobility Grant Program. Over the past three years, EWEB has awarded 18 grants, awarding over $450,000 in grant funding. Previous grant awardees have included Cascadia Mobility, Shift Community Cycles, and Lane Community College, and projects have covered a wide range of projects, including e-bike sharing programs, EV car charging stations, fleet electrification and more.
