EWEB’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) will analyze possible energy resource portfolios with a goal of creating useful insights for long-term (20-year) electricity supply planning decisions. The 2022 IRP will be the first in an iterative, biennial process as EWEB re-assembles an electric supply portfolio for the long-term economic, environmental and social benefit of our community.
At the beginning of 2022, EWEB launched the IRP process. By using advanced modeling software that forecasts electricity demand and supply on an hour-by-hour and year-by-year basis, we can identify which types of resources might best fit our customers' needs, given various constraints and assumptions about future conditions. Throughout the year, EWEB staff will present insights and findings to the Board of Commissioners. A public preliminary draft of the IRP is scheduled to be released in December 2022, at which point the public will have a chance to formally weigh in. Potential approval of the IRP by the board will occur mid-way through 2023.
Agendas will be posted as they become available.
