We are now focusing on water meter upgrades. Here’s what you can expect when it’s time to upgrade your water meter:
- You will be notified by mail or email.
- A few days ahead of when we expect to be in your neighborhood, you will receive an autodial reminder call.
- An EWEB technician with appropriate identification and wearing logo apparel will perform the upgrade at no cost to you (learn more about future fees for customers who elect Manual Meter Reading).
- Water meter upgrades typically take less than an hour to complete.
- Expect a brief interruption in your service while the upgrade is performed.
- After the upgrade, you may notice temporary air bubbles or small amounts of debris in your water. If so, run cold water until it clears. Learn more about troubleshooting color, taste or smell issues.

Be sure there is nothing blocking access to the meters
Utility personnel must be able to access meters at any time for maintenance, inspections, or outages. This means keeping the area free of household items such as yard tools, sheds, or storage bins, as well as leaves, vegetation, or mud. Your help ensures our crews can complete upgrades safely and stay on schedule.
