Emergency Water Container Sales Open Wednesday, March 22—World Water Day
March 17, 2017
World Water Day, on March 22 every year, is an international observance and an opportunity to learn more about water-related issues, be inspired to tell others and take action to make a difference.
This year, World Water Day coincides with the kick-off of another round of emergency water container sales for EWEB customers.
On March 22, we will begin accepting pre-orders online. You can order up to four containers per household.
The $5 charge per container will be applied to your water bill, and one dollar of every purchase will support the local Red Cross emergency preparedness and disaster response.
Customers can pick-up their containers during Drinking Water Week (May 7-10). The discounted water containers are made available through partnerships with local water utilities, the city of Eugene and other agencies.
If a natural or man-made disaster occurs, you can rest easier knowing you are better prepared with a household emergency kit. Putting together your own kit is simple and easy, and it begins with having on hand a minimum of one gallon of water per person per day for drinking and basic sanitation.
Last year's supply sold out quickly, so mark your calendars for March 22.
