Calendar of events
As a citizen-owned utility, the Eugene Water & Electric Board participates in many community
activities, events and special programs.
Below is a schedule of EWEB-related events scheduled
for 2013. Check back frequently for new information as dates
are subject to change.
- May 11-17:
Join EWEB in Eugene-Springfield's annual Business Commute Challenge and compete in a week-long competition to see who can save the most non-drive alone
trips in one week. Get healthy, save money and save the planet.
- May 11:
Alton Baker Park, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit EWEB's booth for tips on water-efficient gardening.
- May 17-19:
The Big O is a flat track roller derby invitational tournament at the Lane Events Center.
This event is supporting the local economy and "greening" their event with the
purchase of .
- June 1: EWEB Solar Challenge
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by 10:45 a.m. opening and first race at 11 a.m., Cal Young Middle School.
- June 29:
Celebrate 10 years on Green Island, located where the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers come together.
Enjoy music, cold beverages, naturalist guides, story tellers and more. Free and
family-friendly. Sponsored by EWEB.
- July 4:
EWEB to host multiple water stations, race starts at
Spencer Butte Middle School, 500 E. 43rd Ave.
- July 20-28:
See the newest ENERGY STAR® and Earth Advantage® homes.
- Aug. 23-25:
Visit EWEB's new water trailer to rehydrate during the annual Eugene Celebration.
- Sept. 8:
Shared spaces. From co-housing projects to backyard cottages and community gardens, this year's
tour will highlight the benefits and beauty of shared spaces of all kinds. Co-hosted by EWEB.
- Oct. 7-11: Public Power Week
Celebrate the benefits of public power with free cookies and coffee in the EWEB lobby, 500 E. Fourth Ave.
- Nov. 24:
Join us for the 5K, 10K, half marathon and Kids 400 meter dash. All proceeds benefit
for income-eligible customers who are struggling to pay their monthly utility bills and stay
warm through the winter month. The event starts and finishes at EWEB's River Edge Plaza.
