As a citizen-owned utility, the Eugene Water & Electric Board participates in many community activities, events and special programs.

Below is a schedule of EWEB-related events scheduled for 2012 that help make Eugene a great place to live. Check back frequently for updates as dates are subject to change.



January

  • Jan. 12: NEDCO energy education course for military veterans, 3-4 p.m., 1135 Hayes St., Eugene. Presented by EWEB and hosted by St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Jan. 12: NEDCO LifeLine Financial Education Program, 1-3 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St., Eugene. EWEB energy experts to present session on understanding your bill, billing options and no-cost energy saving tips. Open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Learn more and register
  • Jan. 20-22: Good Earth Home, Garden and Living Show. Visit EWEB's booth to speak with our energy experts about rebates, programs, and no- and low-cost tips. Lane County Fairgrounds, 796 W. 13th Ave.
  • Jan. 21: Step By Step Home Energy Efficiency seminar, presented by EWEB's energy experts at the Good Earth Home, Garden and Living Show, 11:30 a.m. at the Cedars Stage, Lane County Fairgrounds, 796 W. 13th Ave.
  • Jan. 22: Energy-Efficient New Home Construction seminar, presented by EWEB's energy experts at the Good Earth Home, Garden and Living Show, 1:30 p.m. at the Cedars Stage, Lane County Fairgrounds, 796 W. 13th Ave.
  • Jan. 25: Informational meeting about new PV net metered reservation system for solar contractors only, 8:30-10 a.m., EWEB's North Building, 500 E. Fourth Ave., Eugene. Pre-registration required. Share feedback about new system, get 2011 program statistics, learn about future electronic application process, discuss new rates and policy to take effect April 1, 2012, and more.
  • Jan. 30: NEDCO LifeLine Financial Education Program, 6-8 p.m., 212 Main St., Springfield. EWEB energy experts to present session on understanding your bill, billing options and no-cost energy saving tips. Open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Learn more and register
February

  • Feb. 1: Breakfast of Energy Champions for residential and commercial contractors and other guests, 8-10 a.m., EWEB's North Building, 500 E. Fourth Ave., Eugene. Learn about changes to the State's residential and business energy tax credits from representatives from the Oregon Department of Energy. EWEB's energy experts will also offer info about how contractors can help customers save energy and money. Learn more and register
  • Feb. 6: Local Food Connection – This lively event brings together local farmers, ranchers and fishermen with area food buyers – supporting and sustaining our local food supply system. Workshops showcase hot topics and new data in the local food arena. Table displays, networking and luncheon. Hosted by Cascade Pacific RC&D and sponsored, in part, by EWEB.
  • Feb. 8: Financial Analysis for Commercial Buildings, presented by Energy Trust of Oregon and EWEB, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., EWEB's North Building, 500 E. 4th Ave., Eugene. Apply the principles of financial analysis to assess the value of capital improvement projects for commercial buildings. Free seminar to include discussion of real-world examples and hands-on exercises. Register now
  • Feb. 9: NEDCO LifeLine Financial Education Program, 1-3 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St., Eugene.   • Feb. 23: EWEB Step by Step Home Energy Efficiency presentation for Eugene Association of Realtors, 9:30-11:30 a.m. at EAR Office, 2139 Centennial Plaza, Eugene. $10 per person, or free for EAR Education Club members. Pre-registration required
March

  • March 3: Transitioning After Growth: Connecting Community, Economy, Energy and Environment, a presentation by author Richard Heinberg, 10 to 11 a.m., First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St., Eugene. Sponsored, in part, by EWEB. Suggested donation is $5 to $10. Green Neighbors Faire to follow from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. EWEB to host an information booth.
  • March 5: NEDCO Threshold Homeownership Education and Counseling class, 6-8 p.m., 212 Main St., Springfield. EWEB energy experts to share home energy efficiency tips, as well as information about EWEB's programs and rebates. Must be enrolled in NEDCO's Threshold Program.
