The goals of the McKenzie Watershed Healthy Farms Clean Water Program are to:

  • Protect critical drinking water resources
  • Increase the economic viability of farming

EWEB seeks to engage with growers and provide incentives to:

  • Reduce chemical storage on farms
  • Reduce chemical use by transitioning to certified organic crops or other methods
  • Provide access to local markets that tend to pay more for crops
  • Participate in programs designed to increase energy efficiency, incorporate renewable energy and reduce water consumption
  • Participate in natural resource conservation programs or consider placing some land in conservation or working agricultural easements

The McKenzie Watershed Healthy Farms Clean Water Program is funded by EWEB, a $45,500 grant from the Oregon Governor's Fund for the Environment, and matching funds/services from partner organizations.
