McKenzie Watershed Healthy Farms Clean Water Program
The goals of the McKenzie Watershed Healthy Farms Clean Water Program are to:
- Protect critical drinking water resources
- Increase the economic viability of farming
EWEB seeks to engage with growers and provide incentives to:
- Reduce chemical storage on farms
- Reduce chemical use by transitioning to certified organic crops or other methods
- Provide access to local markets that tend to pay more for crops
- Participate in programs designed to increase energy efficiency, incorporate renewable energy and
reduce water consumption
- Participate in natural resource conservation programs or consider placing some land in conservation or
working agricultural easements
The McKenzie Watershed Healthy Farms Clean Water Program is funded by EWEB, a $45,500 grant from the Oregon
Governor's Fund for the Environment, and matching funds/services from partner organizations.
