We want our customers to have access to the best and proven energy-savings ideas and technologies. If you are investing your hard-earned
dollars in energy-saving projects, we want them to work.
Unfortunately, some products currently being sold in the Eugene area as energy savings devices do not save energy.
One such product is a capacitor, or "power factor correction device." The device comes with claims that customers will save energy by simply plugging in or
installing the capacitor at the main electrical panel. Although these devices are being marketed to
residential and commercial customers, they will not reduce energy use for these customers.
