Do you have an old refrigerator or freezer in the garage that doesn't get much use
and takes up space? Recycle these old appliances and get a $30 rebate.
- Save energy
Older refrigerators or freezers use 2-3 times
more electricity than newer, ENERGY STAR® models.
- Save money
Getting rid of an older, rarely used second refrigerator or
freezer, or replacing an older unit with a newer, more energy efficient model, can
help you save money on your electric bill.
- Protect the environment
EWEB's contracted recycler, JACO Environmental,
will recycle at least 95% of each unit. At the same time, JACO safely disposes
of toxins and ozone-destroying gases from the foam insulation.
- Contact JACO Environmental directly at (866) 444-8907 or visit their website to schedule
a date to pick up your old, operating refrigerator or freezer.
- JACO will haul away and recycle your old, operating refrigerator or freezer for
free.
- JACO will mail you a $30 incentive check within approximately 14 business days of the pick-up,
and you will start saving on your electric bill.
- You must be an EWEB residential customer.
- Your old refrigerator or freezer must be empty and in working condition.
- The refrigerator or freezer unit must be within 10 to 30 cubic feet.
- Limit two units per residential address.
- ENERGY STAR refrigerators and freezers are not eligible.
