Tree falls across Highway 126, downs power lines

Eugene Water & Electric Board crews expect to complete repairs to downed power lines near Leaburg by 9 a.m. and restore electric service to approximately 860 McKenzie River Valley customers without electricity.

Customers lost power early this morning when a large maple tree fell across Highway 126 immediately west of Leaburg and brought down the power lines. EWEB crews were able to remove most of the tree from the road and re-open the highway to one lane of traffic controlled by flaggers before 2 a.m.

The outage started at 12:17 a.m.
