Oct. 24, 2008 Energy fair offers expert advice, tips for cutting utility billsThe Eugene Water & Electric Board is sponsoring an energy fair at the Eugene Public Library on Wednesday, Oct. 29, to provide homeowners and renters with expert advice and tips for cutting energy bills this winter. “Energy Fare: A Menu of Savings” will include a 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. open house, during which the public can drop in and get information about EWEB energy conservation programs, low-income assistance and sign up for green power. Representatives from several community resource organizations will also be on hand to answer questions and provide information. At 5:30 p.m., EWEB energy conservation expert Tom West will lead a seminar focusing on low-cost and no-cost strategies for saving energy. Sarah Mazze, from the Climate Masters program, will then share ideas about motivating people to make changes that are good for their wallet and the environment. Door prizes will be given and a raffle will be held. There is no registration required for this free event, which will be held in the library’s Bascom/Tykeson Room. Organizations participating in the event include the Housing and Community Services Agency of Lane County, Campbell Senior Center, City of Eugene Greenbuilding program, and others. -- end -- |
