Crews to begin River Avenue power line replacement

Eugene Water & Electric Board crews are scheduled to begin a project to move a power line to accommodate the city of Eugene’s widening of River Avenue.

The River Avenue work consists of moving some of the existing overhead line underground, as well as upgrading the line between River Road and the River Avenue onramp to Beltline Road. Several trees are scheduled to be removed this week as part of the overall city street widening project.

EWEB is scheduled to complete the work by the end of April, prior to the start of the street widening. Motorists can expect some traffic delays or lane closures along River Avenue and at the roadway’s intersection with River Road.
