Underground line work begins on Blanton RoadEugene Water & Electric Board crews began work this week on a new underground electric line along Blanton Road in southwest Eugene. The work, which should take about seven weeks to complete, will require EWEB to limit traffic to one-way periodically throughout the day. Motorists should experience only short delays. An underground electric cable will be installed along 2,200 feet of the road approximately from Sundial to the Ridgeline Trail parking lot, near Ridgewood Drive. Some of the overhead lines also will be serviced during the project. The $250,000 project is aimed at improving electric service reliability to the Blanton Heights area. It is being partially funded by a $100,000 reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. -- end -- |
