Traffic advisory: Willamette lanes closed on ThursdayThe northbound lanes of Willamette Street will be closed at 24 th Avenue on Thursday morning while Eugene Water & Electric Board crews work on improvements to electric wires in the area. Eugene police will detour northbound traffic onto 24 th beginning at 8:15 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 6). Work should be completed by noon. The recommended detour for northbound traffic is a right turn onto 24 th , to Amazon Parkway. However, motorists may wish to avoid Willamette Street altogether and take an alternate route during the morning commute. Southbound traffic on Willamette will not be affected. EWEB crews will be installing new switching equipment at 24 th and Willamette to improve electric service reliability for customers in the area. No customers are expected to be without power during the work. |
