Former Administrative Law Judge Named
New EWEB Commissioner
A former Administrative Law Judge for the State of Oregon
was selected as a new Eugene Water & Electric Board Commissioner Thursday
night. Following a discussion of the applicants for the position, the
EWEB Board voted to name Melvin Menegat to the vacant Ward 6 & 7 position.
Menegat replaces Henry Masterson on the EWEB Board. Wards
6 and 7 cover the downtown, Whiteaker, and incorporated portions of River
Road/Santa Clara and Bethel/Danebo areas. Menegat will serve on the EWEB
Board through 2004. He can run for election to the position next year.
Menegat has extensive legal experience. He was a Deputy
District Attorney in Clackamas County, worked in private practice, and
served as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Oregon over the
past 35 years. He has live in Eugene for 27 years.
Menegat will be sworn in at the EWEB Board's formal meeting
next Tuesday night, August 5.
