Sustainability Guru to Discuss "Extreme Weather: Corrupt Politics: Finding a Future" on Wednesday July 30

Keynote speaker Paul Hawken will discuss "Extreme Weather, Corrupt Politics: Finding A Future" from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 in the Erb Memorial Union ballroom on the University of Oregon campus, as part of an annual energy management speaker series sponsored by Eugene Water & Electric Board and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.

The series begins on Tuesday, July 29 with internationally-recognized lighting designer and sustainable design expert Jim Benya, who will present "Sustainable Lighting and Daylighting Design" in the EWEB Headquarters, North Building Training Center from 7-9 p.m.

In addition to Hawken's presentation on July 30, EWEB Energy Management Services Engineer Reid Hart will present "The Truth About Comfort" on Monday, August 4 from 7-9 p.m. in the EWEB Headquarters North Building Training Center.

"Last year's talks were great" said Hart, EWEB's lead energy management engineer. "Its good to get a chance to think about the big picture and the relationship of energy use to sustainability."
