EWEB to Sponsor Forum on Changes to Solar Access in City Code

The current land use code for the City of Eugene contains provisions for protecting solar access from shading caused by new development. Existing provisions help property owners and tenants enjoy the benefits of natural sunlight and solar energy in their yards, homes and businesses.

Proposed changes to the Eugene Land Use Code significantly revise the solar access protection currently provided in the Code. Join us for a public forum that details what changes are proposed and how the changes would affect solar access in residential and commercial zones.

The forum will focus only on those portions of the Eugene Land Use Code that propose changes that affect solar access and is designed to help citizens provide useful input to the City of Eugene's Code Update process.

Where:

    EWEB Training Center (North Building)
    Eugene Water & Electric Board
    500 East 4th Avenue, Eugene

When:

    Wednesday, January 26, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Participants include:

Eugene Water & Electric Board, Eugene City Planning Department, Lane County Homebuilders Association

Who should attend:

Anyone interested in the benefits of natural sunlight and solar energy in their homes or businesses, and how the proposed land use code changes will affect solar access.

The Eugene Planning Commission will hold two public hearings on all code changes at 6:00 p.m. on January 27 and February 1. Both hearings will be held in the Eugene Council Chambers at 777 Pearl Street. Written comments are due by February 4.
