Board Members Present: Patrick Lanning, Ron Farmer, Sandra Bishop, and Dorothy Anderson.

Others Present: Jim Wiley and Krista Hince of the EWEB staff.

President Lanning called the Special Board Meeting of the Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) order at 5:30 p.m.

BOARD INTERVIEWS

The Commissioners interviewed the following individuals for the existing Commissioner vacancy: Bonnie J. Kuhn; Henry Masterson; Janet Marshall; and Richard Cunningham. Each individual was asked the following questions:

1. As you know, EWEB is a public utility, owned by the citizens of Eugene. In your mind, what is the value of a public utility to its community?

2. Why do you want to serve on the EWEB Board?

3. What do you see as the role of the EWEB Commissioner?

4. Why are you best qualified for this position?

5. What do you see as the role of the EWEB General Manager?

6. What level of time commitment can you make to serve on the board, and what do you think is appropriate?

7. What are the issues most important to you?

8. How would you address the budget challenges facing EWEB today?

9. What is your experience working with large community entity budgets?

DISCUSSION/APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER FOR WARDS 6 & 7 POSITION

The Commissioners briefly discussed the interviews and the merits of each candidate and agreed to take final action on the appointment on March 13.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
