L.H. Morris - Residential Demand-Side Management
Resources Program - Energy Management Services - Customer Services
Division. In 1998, EWEB awarded L. H.
Morris the contract for installing energy-efficient electronic
thermostats in electrically heated residences. This requested
increase completes the current contract for installation of
electronic thermostats on March 31, 2002. A new competitive bid
contract for this work in 2002 has been let and will close on
March 15, 2002. No additional budget funds are being requested.
Energy-efficient electronic thermostats are installed in
non-low-income and low-income residences with zonal electric heat
(ceiling cable, baseboards, and wall units). Non-low income
customers pay the full cost of installation. EWEB picks up the
full cost of installation for eligible low-income customers.
Approximately $37,000 of this increase will be spent on
installations for low-income customers. Cost of the contract is
$125,000. Contact Kathy Grey, 484-2411, ext. 3049.

Montgomery Watson Harza
(MWH) - Trailbridge Spillway Expansion - Electric
Division. Staff
recommends executing a contract with Montgomery Watson Harza
Engineering for performance of geotechnical investigation and
analysis of Trailbridge Dam, preliminary design of an emergency
spillway, and development of USFS mitigation plans. The spillway
expansion is required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
(FERC) Part 12, Subsection D dam safety regulations, in order
to safely pass Probable Maximum Flood waters through the dam.
Harza, of MWH, has performed the last two Part 12 inspections,
developed design alternatives and facilitated approvals by the
FERC. Their performance thus far has been excellent and their
knowledge of the project requirements makes them uniquely
qualified to continue with this next phase. The cost of this work
is not to exceed $37,700. Contact person is Jerry Hohman at
