Scholarships
The Eugene Water & Electric Board is offering several scholarships for the 2009-10 school year to support the next generation of utility
workers who will successfully contribute to our industry and the community. Application materials are due by September 1, 2009.
Two $1,250 scholarships are available for university students who meet the following criteria:
- Must be an EWEB customer or an EWEB customer's dependant
- Currently enrolled at a university
- Junior or senior maintaining an accumulative 3.5 grade point average
- Provide at least two letters of recommendation from teachers, community leaders and/or others
- Complete and return the required paperwork outlined in the application by September 1, 2009

Two $1,250 scholarships are available for students pursuing a career in the utility industry who meet the following criteria:
- Student in good standing at one of the following schools:
- Lane Community College – Energy Management Technician
- Lane Community College – Renewable Energy Technology Program
- Northwest Lineman College – Lineman Training Program
- Vocation Outside Line Training Academy (VOLTA) – Camp Rilea Climbing School, Lineman Training Program
- Linn-Benton Community College – Water/Wastewater Technology
- Others considered with committee approval
- Provide at least two letters of recommendation from teachers, community leaders and/or others
- Must be an EWEB customer, EWEB customer dependant, Go WEST (Water and Electric Section
Training) intern or Hayden Bridge Filtration Plant intern
- Complete and return the required paperwork outlined in the application by September 1, 2009
