Are you looking for a new direction? EWEB offers a range of internship opportunities for individuals who are interested
in a career in the trades.
EWEB offers traditional internships for college and university students who would like to supplement their
studies with real world experiences in their field of choice.
Current opportunities are listed below.
- Seasonal Water Management Assistants
Conduct site analysis to help customers develop
more sustainable practices with their water usage. Survey customers about their landscape and
irrigation water use, and provide clients with practical recommendations and program
offerings. The position pays $12/hour. Applications are due no later than April 20, 2012. The summer

We will also partner with
Oregon State University's MECOP and CECOP (Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program
and Civil Engineering Cooperative Program) at times. For more information send an email of interest to

Winter 2012: We will start accepting applications for the next Utility Trades Internship
on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012. This rotation is open to all community members. Due to the high
interest in this position, we have set an application limit of 100, at which time we will close
the posting.
The EWEB Utility Trades Internship program is designed to introduce and teach interested
community members what it takes on a daily basis to run one of the best public utilities in the nation.
We offer 12-week internship programs for adults, high school seniors or recent graduates, and military
veterans.
Interns gain hands-on experience working with journey-level EWEB employees in the areas of:
- Water construction
- Water distribution
- Line construction and operations
- Substation reliability
Interns have the opportunity to work towards the acquisition of their Oregon commercial driver's License (CDL-A)
and are paid at the rate of $12 per hour. Duties may include:
- Assisting employees performing construction and maintenance activities
- Assisting in the installation or repair of utility facilities
- Receiving and distributing tools and materials
- Coordinating pickup and delivery of tools and materials to job sites
- Performing a variety of construction and maintenance tasks including brush clearing, installation of
forms and placing concrete, flagging traffic, cleaning construction sites, and digging with a hand shovel
to expose underground utilities
- Training in the operation of large motorized equipment
- Other related duties as assigned
Internships dates:
- Winter (first quarter of the year): Community adult internship
- Summer: Recent high school graduate internship
- Fall: Military veteran internship
