Know your ‘water budget’
How much water are you using?  Chances are, you glance at the amount of your water bill each month but don’t have a clear understanding of how much is the “right” amount based on your household size.

The Eugene Water & Electric Board suggests that customers develop a water budget to help monitor your usage, identify leaks, determine if you need to take steps to reduce water consumption and save money as a result. The goal of the water budget is to estimate an average of how much water would be used per-person in your home and for each 1,000 square feet of your landscape. Then you can compare your water bill to this calculation of the average for both indoor and outdoor needs.
