Be sure to check out Eugene Water & Electric Boards Premium Efficiency Motor Program before you buy. EWEB has made some improvements to the utilitys ten-year old rebate program to make it easier for you to participate.
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) recently developed a new set of standards called NEMA Premium to distinguish the most energy efficient three-phase induction motors. EWEB subsequently modified its efficiency requirements to line up with the NEMA Premium standard. This change should not only make more products available, it will make it easier to ask for a motor that qualifies for our program. Just ask for a NEMA Premium motor in the size, speed, and torque requirements you need. If you are familiar with the old program, youll notice there are now separate tables for open, drip-proof and totally enclosed, fan-cooled motors. Some qualifying efficiencies have changed as well. Check the new program literature for details. Another change expands the number of vendors who can offer rebates when you buy a motor. Any motor supplier can give you the rebate as long as the motor qualifies. Ask your motor supplier to offer you an EWEB rebate for your qualifying motor. If you are purchasing your motor through a contractor, ask your contractor for an EWEB rebate. For more information, call Greg Kelleher at 484-1125. If you would prefer to apply yourself, rebates are still available directly from EWEB in lieu of receiving the rebate as a discount on your motor purchase. Contact Greg Kelleher at Energy Management Services for program details or check out the Premium Efficiency Motors web page.
Greg is coordinating our Premium Efficiency Motor Program. He can also help you save energy and money on process equipment, ancillary equipment, lighting, compressed air, and almost any other application you might have. Give Greg a call at 4841125.
