Daylighting bonus For example, daylighting improves human performance. Analysis of school records for 21,000 elementary students in three different states showed that reading scores were 26 percent higher and math scores were 20 percent higher in classrooms with the most daylight. Also, a similar study of a major retail chain showed 40 percent higher sales in stores with skylights. The results of both studies, conducted by the Heschong Mahone Group, were statistically valid to a 99 percent degree of confidence, making this some of the most reliable information on the topic yet developed.
