Promote Your environmental ethic with EWEB Windpower

After a full year since the introduction of the program on April 22, 1999, more than 2,600 residential electric customers have expressed their support for the environment by subscribing to EWEB Windpower, and over 40 percent of the available wind energy has been assigned.

Eugene Water & Electric Board also offers business customers a way to minimize their impact on the earth while demonstrating their environmental ethic to customers and the community through EWEB Windpower and a special promotional campaign.

All business customers choosing EWEB Windpower as the source for at least 10 percent of their electricity can participate in a specially-designed marketing program that helps emphasize their environmental stewardship. By signing up for EWEB Windpower, local businesses will be acknowledged with:

  • EWEB-sponsored advertisements in local newspapers.
  • window decals noting participation in EWEB Windpower
  • articles listing windpower participants in various EWEB newsletters.
  • permission to use the EWEB Windpower logo in company promotion and advertising.

Business customers may select one of several levels of participation: 10, 25, 50 or 100 percent windpower. So far, almost 50 local businesses have partnered with the utility by subscribing to EWEB Windpower, says EWEB Energy Management Engineer Dan Morehouse. “It’s their way of showing environmental responsibility to their customers and constituents, and because they feel it’s the right thing to do.”
