Education Grants Program
EWEB’s commitment to education in the community is evident in the grant funds provided to area educators. EWEB provides grant opportunities to the four area school districts that encompass the utility’s service area, to the Energy Management Program at Lane Community College and to local non-profit organizations for energy and water education activities. The current annual level of funding for water and energy education in the community totals over $630,000.
School district education grants
The EWEB Education Grant Program provides funding for water and energy education activities in four area school districts: Eugene, Bethel, Springfield and McKenzie. The utility currently dedicates $427,500 annually to fund these water and energy education activities. Partners In Education (PIE) grants
The goal of EWEB’s Partners In Education Program is to fund high-impact projects that drive advancements in education in the EWEB service area, with emphasis on content that relates to EWEB products, resources and priorities. Generally these grants support the energy and water education projects of local non-profit organizations and academic institutions. Lane Community College – Energy Management Program
The Energy Management Program at Lane Community College offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree that prepares students for a career in the energy management field. EWEB’s $120,000 annual grant provides base funding for the program and helps assure our community a highly skilled workforce that can wisely manage energy use in homes, business and industry.
