Relicensing mission, goals and objectives

EWEB has adopted the following mission to guide its relicensing process:

To obtain a new federal license for the Carmen-Smith Hydroelectric Project so that the Project can continue to operate in an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable manner.

To accomplish this goal, EWEB has identified several objectives:

• Meet FERC requirements for products and schedules
• Share information
• Involve agencies, tribes and the public
• Identify and investigate likely effects of the project, both positive and negative, on the project area environment and the community using state-of-the-art scientific methods
• Identify cost-effective protection, mitigation and enhancement measures based on scientific study and investigation
