Power quality statistics
EWEB has several power system recorders located at various substations around the region. These recorders monitor important parameters of the system voltage that give EWEB feed-back about the quality of the voltage we provide to our customers. Power system disturbances at the transmission level (> 69,000 Volts) have a tendency to affect customers throughout the entire power distribution system (<13,000 volts). for a list of recorded events along with any listed cause for the event, see voltage disturbance list. The information in the above list has been charted in several different ways to aid in analyzing and categorizing the information. The composite information displayed on the charts can be helpful to our customers in deciding the level of backup protection required for their personal or business needs. For example, your business could evaluate the energy required in a UPS for a given severity and duration of sags and examine the charts for EWEB's system to evaluate the number of instances where the UPS is insufficient to maintain computer loads. For a list of charts displaying the magnitude and duration of the voltage disturbances measured at EWEB's recorders, see Voltage Disturbance Charts.
